How to own a Japanese Vehicle

There are two ways to purchase a car from us:

 1. We can purchase direct from auction houses across Japan and ship to you

2. You can purchase from our inventory

Why Us?

Longevity: We have been living in Japan since 1998 and exporting vehicles under JRT Trading for the past 18 years

Trust: Our goal is to have your loyalty for life. We do this by being as transparent as possible and saving you money where we can

Passion: We love Japan, JDM and sourcing our clients “their” car

Knowledge: Not only do we have an in house mechanic and yard but we have relationships with dealers and manufacturers

Licensed: Not only are we a licensed auction agent and dealer, but we also have a travel agent and accommodation license through our sister businesses.

The Auction Process:

1. Contact us, tell us what you’re looking for, preferably also tell us your budget.

2. We will send you some examples and prices of the car you are interested in

3. When we find something you’re interested in we will ask you for a 100,000yen deposit easily and instantly payable by credit card

4. Once we secure your vehicle we will send you an invoice for the remainder of the vehicle costs including inland shipping to wharf, paperwork and customs clearance

5. We will notify you when the boat leaves and send you a final invoice for the freight.

Our Auction Fee:

Vehicles up to 1,200,000yen: 120,000yen

Vehicles over 1,200,000 million yen: Based on our relationship with the customer and amount of deposit put down (negotiable)

This fee includes:

– local inland transport of up to 15,000yen. We ship roro (roll on roll off) from the nearest port from Kyshuu to Tokyo

– test driving when possible- extra photos and inspection upon request (for the car you bid on and/or purchase)

– up to three extra detailed inspections of vehicles (1500yen/vehicle for 4th vehicle and after)

Before you contact us (and especially if this is your first time):

1. Do your research. Find out the importing laws in your country. Can you legally import the vehicle you want?

2. Find out how much the vehicle you are interested in sells for in your area. If there isn’t one, you should confirm “can this vehicle be imported to my country?”

3. Make sure you check your local market first. Sometimes you may find what you want locally for as good of a deal, you never know!

4. Set a realistic budget. The longer we look for a vehicle for you, the more we will have to charge you. Kicking tires will cost us time and therefore you money.
